Take the role of a plane crash survivor stranded somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. Experience terrifying encounters both above and below an endless environment. Come face to face with some of the most life threatening scenarios that will result in a different experience each time you play.

  • Generate an Infinite Number of Procedural Worlds – Explore Pacific islands, reefs, and bottomless ocean trenches filled with detailed biomes!No two worlds are the same – You can generate a completely new and randomized world at any time. You can also mix your own maps created with the map editor in with the procedurally created maps in the world for a more customized experience. If you feel like sharing, you can even share your world seed with other players.

    * Please note, currently the generated world size is limited to 6.25km2 but the final world size will be much larger.

  • Dynamic Weather and Day-Night Cycle – Struggle to navigate stormy seas or enjoy basking with a coconut on a sunny afternoon.
  • Unique Physically-based Crafting System – Harvest resources to create equipment by combining them together in the physical world – no crafting slots!
  • Unique Physically-based Building System – Settle on an island and construct a shelter or venture the seas with your own built raft.
  • Detailed Survival Aspects and Interaction – Manage your vitals of hunger, thirst, blood, and health against the harshness of mother nature.
  • Random Loot and Collectables – Search sunken shipwrecks and islands for interesting and rare equipment.
  • Hunting and fishing – Spear small animals in the shallows or risk the depths with a spear gun in search of larger meals. Starve an island of resources or maintain and manage its growth.

Development
The things we want and things we know you want!

  • Dealing with bugs -A lot of effort has been put into making sure your Stranded Deep experience is as bug free as possible, however the game is in an Early Access stage of development, so there will be bugs. We will be doing our best to squish them.
  • Performance – Optimizing performance is an important ongoing process that will continue through the Early Access period.
  • Island and Terrain Variety – Creating more unique biomes and biome parameters for different procedural generations.
  • More Wildlife – Incorporating more fish and shark species and more interesting island wildlife like birds, snakes and lizards.
  • An End-game Scenario – Making it possible to complete a series of optional tasks and progress through the world in an attempt to be rescued.
  • Co-operative Gameplay – Where you can band together as a team of misfits and ration your supplies or eliminate each other one by one.
  • Improved User Interface – All of the in-game UI is temporary and will be replaced with a more fitting theme.

    Hello, I have some recommendations for making this game better and more interesting:
    -There are still “floating” trees on some islands
    -It would be great if player may hunt birds
    -Be careful with creating mp because you will lose the main theme of the game
    -It would be great if there are more species of crabs and also if you crate sea urchins because the shores are a little bit empty and boring
    -When you cut the Yucca tree the animations of fibrous leaves getting cut would be realy cool and interesting because if u cut the tree you can let some leaves on the tree and they can refill after a while

    I hope this was usefull, and I have a question, do anybody knows approximately date when this game will be completed?

Not going to ask anything because I know you’re committed to working on the game and not reading/answering the same dumb questions over and over. Unfortunately I have only a PS4 but I’ll still keep hoping! Regardless, the game looks awesome and good luck finishing your baby!

  15. Couple suggestions: after consuming coconuts the empty halves could be used for small water portion cups and/or as firewood.

    I know you guys are working hard, would live to be able to do ‘house boats’ with multiple tiers.

  18. so far i had enjoyed the game. But after sometime when i got into the game , i find it way to easy to survive and the game very repetitive.
    when you have crafted and stocked all items , rafts and resources and seen the varieties of islands and few animals. Could you please consider making A lot more craftable stuff , Weapons and items.

    And im wondering why there are no more mining potential with metal/steel or even small amounts of silver/gold/cobber to be found or crafted for higher advanced tools or cool stuff.

    (SORRY IF MY ENGLISH IS BAD) i really enjoy the ideas of this game and still play now and then. But there are currently just to few things to craft or do when you got it all.
    And there are to few choices about what kind of camp you wanna build since Theres many kinds of ways to survive on islands or in nature itself. I Really hope you take some new ideas into your development and dont let the game end in its current status since it has A lot of potential/Development in store if put together right.
    Keep up the good work guys and please do all you can to develop this game even further. 🙂

Not played for like 8 months or somthing, thought I would see whats changed. this game was ok ish before, now its just crap. shit vanishes for no reason, guy gets stuck on nothing, gets stuck in raft, islands have nothing on them and I mean nothing! no trees, no rocks, crabs, sticks, nothing. begining to regret buying this tbh

    I have an idea to make the game a tad bit goal-oriented which I believe will make the game more successful. Add a map to the game but leave it completely blank with the exception of the island that u start on. Then as a player disembarks on a new island, a peg or icon will appear on the map and you will be given small pictorial outlines of every island that exists on the map and your job is to correctly put the map together. Basically you would be putting together a puzzle. Now obviously you could just continue doing just the survival thing but I think it gives u a second reason to build the gyrocopter which will give you a “bird’s-eye-view” of the islands therefore making it easier to pick the outline of the island out of a line-up of choices on ur map. So basically make a map, turn the islands into puzzle pieces and make the players put the puzzle together. At the end they would gain an achievement or maybe a new in-game device. Thank you for your time.

  23. I absolutely love this game and the new update is great. The helicopter workes alot better that I thought it would but gas runs out to quickly and where is the whale I was looking forward to seeing it again. But again the gas thing is coll but you should make last a little longer because realistically for a small helicopter like that it would last a little long i would think. Anyways fantastic game love seeing the game still updating. Thank you Devs for your great work

  24. Love the game, totally didn’t know you guys/girls were fellow aussies. Few possibilities:
    -make the megalodon/ colossal squid etc random encounters aswell (scare the shit out of new players plus allows more advanced players a little more difficulty when island hopping).
    -harvestable seaweed/kelp (can be dried and woven, or applied to garden plots for quicker growth of plants, same goes for rotting meat, or a craftable compost bin for same purpose).
    -stone fish in the shallows, octopi inside consoles/ lockers etc for a jump scare when looting shipwrecks.
    -plane wrecks aswell as shipwrecks (looting long sleeve shirts for sun protection, hiking shoes make you immune to snakes, desal water filters for emergency fresh water etc).
    -gill nets or drag nets (2 sticks, 2-4 stones, shit ton of rope/ cordage).
    -chum bucket, allows you to dump leftover meat in a patch of water, attracting sharks within a certain area, drawing their interest for a few minutes and leaving you free to search a wreck you have distracted them away from.
    -pig farming, and to catch them alive you would require pig snares, baited with potatoes.
    -be able to create composite meals for massive hunger regen or potential buffs, like a stew (meat, potatoes, yucca fruit, water + a whole day to cook) or wrapping veges and meat together in palm fronds for a more nutritious meal (buffs could be ‘well fed’: increased immunity to venom or ‘balanced diet’: hydration decreases at a slower rate etc)
    -seeing as its the pacific, and assuming near the edge of the ring of fire, you could make volcanoes a randomized event (new island, but have to wait a week after its appeared before you can land on it, new plants and wildlife could start growing 2 weeks after its cooled down, can loot/mine obsidian for making tools, cuts/ kills twice as fast, but durability is lost twice as fast etc).
    -caves on larger islands (if made quite rare, could include potential freshwater spring, accessed via pickaxe, could contain insects for higher bird snare/ fish trap yield).

    Ill leave it there, anyways, well done on your effort so far. you have made, and are continuing to make an amazing game.

  28. PLEASE! tone down the number of tiger sharks (or their aggressiveness). It is impossible to visit a wreck without the possibility of attack and its getting to the point where I am no longer interested in playing the game due to this. And maybe a source of fresh water on some islands. If there are wild boars on an island it stands to reason there must be a source of water for them. And a rain trap that can be a source of water after rain/storms. Similar setup to the solar stills (I think the solar still should have an extra tarp enclosing the area where the leaves go). I realise this is a survival game but when your entire gameplay experience is distilled to trying to find enough water and to a lesser extent food it becomes a serious grind and not all that enjoyable.
    And after reading Levi’s posts a few above mine he has some excellent suggestions.

    I’m truly impressed by the teh shudder in the back of my neck,
    when that tigershark comes on, and the music changes..
    Each time I hear it, I FLY out of the water, either into my raft or back to the island..
    FYI, sprinting underwater doesn’t work..
    I mean, it could use a short burst of speed, up to ‘Olypian’, when that music starts..
    In real life I’d be Olypian if I’d know there’s shark around..(at least for a very very short while..)..shark=>adrenal rush=>swim a litlle faster..
    I know it’s not real when I play that game, but the hair at the back of my neck goes up, for real..

    Here’s some things you can do which may also help performance..
    – craftable storages. (when you only got one thing instead of tonnes showing it will need less system resources, and it will make it neater..)
    – place it like a regular building part, can’t be moved..I’d love it…
    I already use the labeller to make crates named for Tools/Raft Kit/Storage etc,
    but still, it takes a whopping amount of time to check them all..
    And ofc, there’s only limited space in one crate..
    I like the buoyancy of the rafts, since a bigger raft allows for more crates to carry along..
    But..I think it would be even better, if you could build a structure on the raft,
    once you start hitting 5×5 or 6×6 raft pieces
    A nice little house on my raft in the center, or maybe even a big one, once I hit 10×10..
    Which brings me to another point..
    Buoy markers for cleaned wrecks..
    Right now I can only use a single piece raft+deck+anchor for that,
    and that’s very wastefull when it comes to resources..
    I’d love a way to mark the sites, like a piece of wood on a string with a stone or something..or maybe a smaller version of the buoy balls that can be used
    for the raft..
    Maybe the combo, 1x clay+1x rope, resulting in a buoy-like thing, that can be ‘anchored’
    to a wreck’s hull..
    Just thinking here..

    Anyays, I’m having boatloads fo fun, and even more considering I payed like $10 for
    it on sale..
    If I were you I’d consider doing an add-on for another $10, with optional in-game stuff
    like a sorta plugin (switchable on/off) ?
    And I got one to start with
    Shark music on/off !!! OMG…I’d crap my pants I think..

  30. The shipwreck ‘buoy’ markers, can also be a coconut, but not peeled..
    The yellow has good contrast, and then all that’s needed
    is a small weight and some rope, to keep it in place on the wrecks..
    That would be really great..

  33. Also, a way to attach crates to the raft, so they stick to it, even when it turns over..
    I mean that’s simple no ?
    Using one latching and it ties to the boat, like a piece of the boat..
    Ofc, it would lower overall boyancy, but still, better for shark fishing..
    I get the shark on the deck most of the times, but sometimes it kinda ‘attaches’
    and the raft keels over, from the side the shark is carried..
    My raft can handle lots of crates, but when it keels over due to this glitch,
    I gotta say I’m bummed out..
    Maybe even a fixed storage for crates on the raft, that would be nice..
    Chuck in 6 crates or 8 or 12, or whichever amount the raft can stay afloat with..
    Maybe one that’s expandable.like a house..
    I hope you keep something like this in mind..
    Still loving the game though, despite the re-loads when I lose 6 crates or something..
    IRL, It would be easy to attach a crate, so I think it’s not far fetched..
    I’m currently using 13 piece raft /w sail and motor and it works great..
    Using sail when I don’t wanna expend fuel, only using motor when in poisoned
    and need to get back to camp to get antidote, or water plants..
    Usually I got plenty of time, but sometimes..

    Also, a tip for people that don’t wanna lose fuel..
    Adding more motors, can save on space when fueling them all, instead of carrying
    fuel cans..
    My present configuration has two already, one front and one back, so I don’t have to get into the water to reverse course..I’ll do the same with sail, since they only go one way..

    Also, one more use for latching is for attaching a piece around a shark’s tail,
    and instead of putting it on the deck, which requires a lot of byoancy, would rather
    reduce the speed of the vessel but rather the amount of buoyancy required would be
    less..I can wait a few hours extra before coming home, np..
    I got sharkburgers..
    Also, using metal deckplates (which should significantly impact buoyancy)
    should allow for a regular building type..like a smoker.. 😀 you guessed it..
    SHARKBURGERZ !!!
    Ofc, a stone house would need lots of metal surface, and a huge amonut of buoyancy..
    But hey, when your raft is big and fat enough, it should be able to do so..
    Also, doubling up on floaters (the things that keep the raft up), should also be possible..
    two layers=double buoyancy..
    That should make it even harder to sink..
    (Technically, a raft can only be so large, before incurring structural penalties..)
    (Put a small house in the middle, and the middle would sink, tearing off the outerward pieces..)
    So, despite metal, icertain restrictions should be in place..
    On the other hand, triple or quadruple floaters in the middle, would offset local lift..
    Then the outerward ones would not be taxed at the seams..
    And yes, the raft is the biggest fun in the game..
    Expanding on that is a real nice way to improve it..
    A ‘secret’ goal could be getting rations and stuff ready up to such an amount,
    that one could simply sail to the mainland..
    (Like 400 water and 100 unites of food) with sail..
    (ofc, a well developed raft would also be required..I’d say 25 floaters minimum)
    When the amount of food and water and raft you have gets closer to the target, the chances of reaching the mainland would go up, until you have 99%)
    (There’s always something that can go wrong..)
    That would work with the endgame stuff as well..
    Fight or farm ur way to victory..
    Then again, if you have a nice house on a boat, with lots of food and water,
    why go home at all ??
    All you need to do is catch a few fish or sharks or such, and get more water..
    Really guud…almost feels like a vacation when playing this, in comparison
    with day to day life..simple task, get food and water, and that’s that..

    To me, that’s wonderous..
    And I have yet to cook up the nerve for the deep sea and the white shark..
